According to a news cutting [from the 7.11.2003 edition of the Albany
Extra?] I received in a package from the west, the translocated
population of noisy scrub birds on Bald Island [at the eastern end of
Two Peoples Bay] is now estimated to exceed 100 birds. In this year's
NSB census, 53 males were heard defending territories, a significant
increase on the 8 males translocated in 1992/93. Bald Island has the
advantage of being free of exotic predators and is less fire prone than
the mainland.
