Hi Bruce et al Most occassions I have seen/heard Black Bitterns in Sydney have been in light rain or on overcast conditions. Had one call all morning at Mitchell Park in Cattai (in Sydney's north west) and have heard them in those sort of conditions at Castlereagh NR and at Dharug NP (a few locations in or on the edge of Sydney where they can be found).
