Once again, thank you to all those that assisted with phone numbers. For those about to flock to Lake Illawarra looking for Regent Honeyeaters - I've been in touch with Mr Fullerton (the photographer) and he's pretty sure the birds in question were ... (wait for it) ... New Holland Honeyeaters. He's sending me an image of the birds, just in case. I'm about to chase up my informant and give him the bad news. Still, better to chase up a furphy like this (and, believe me, I chase many of them) than miss out on an important record.
