Hi Birders,
Obviously yesterday was a good day for White-throated Needletails along the NSW Coast. While driving along Wyong Rd, between Berkeley Vale and Chittaway, over a distance of 2 km between the 930-940 hrs I counted 120 Swifts but that would have to represent a much larger flock as the birds were passing over the road continuously. Later that morning around 1015 hrs 20+ were seen over Wyong itself.

Other good birds seen on the Central Coast last weekend included 9 Black-tailed Godwits at Picnic Pt The Entrance (very uncommon on Tuggerah Lakes), 26+ pairs of Little Terns nesting Karagi Pt The Entrance together with 72 non-breeding Little Terns, 32 Common Terns, a Gull-billed Tern, and 2 pairs of Red-capped Plovers with chicks and one pair on eggs, a late Double-banded Plover at Soldiers Pt Norah Head, the Bush Stone-curlews at Kincumber have successfully hatched a chick and a White Goshawk at Palmgrove.
