Hi all,
The NSW Bird Atlassers list the Greylag Goose (Anser anser) as RAOU Number 987. I have a correspondent who claims this is wrong and that 987 is the number for the Weka. Can someone enlighten me as to which species is number 987 and, if it is not the goose, what is the goose's number? I have never heard of Wekas being seen in Australia.

Picked up my long awaited copy of the new atlas this morning and I would agree that some of the illustrations look a little amateurish. Having said that, some of them look positively stunning and ready to walk or fly off the page.

Cheers
Paul Osborn
