I'm going to be photographing birds at Werribee in December and/or January. I'm
going to be buying/borrowing a tripod for the occasion.

Any advice on any of:
The best places to photograph from
Time of day / lighting
Distance to birds
Days to go / days to avoid
Height of tripod
Any other tips

By the way, any advice on the best place and time to photograph a Night Heron
at the Melbourne Botanic Gardens. I'd like as much daylight as possible.
