Yes Nigel,
The Australian Wildlife Sound Recording Group is definitely still active.
We have just held a conference on the South Coast of NSW. All up we have
about 60 members. We produce a journal and a CD of members' recordings,
twice a year. Membership is around $25 a year but I will have to
double-check that. Bill Rankin is Journal Editor, I am the Sound Editor,
and Fred van Gessel is Secretary/Treasurer. If you can't contact Fred
regarding membership, just get back to me and I'll sort things out.

Hello All, just new to this list...
I've worked in Video Production for 10 years, but as a mad enthusiast for
Nature and Music, Im looking for my next hobby project to fuse 'Bird Calls
and Percussion' on CD.
I searched the archives of Birding-Aus and found references to the
'Australian Wildlife Sound Recording Group (AWSRG)' but the email contacts
listed are bouncing.
If the AWSRG is still active, I would love to talk to someone about
membership, and ask for a few pointers to give me a head start.

Also, are there any established groups who are bird watching around the Gold
Coast?
Regards,
Nigel Coates
