Sightings

26 October

Black Honeyeaters and Budgerigars were seen at Goschen Bushland Reserve - near the communication Tower, and in the north-east of the reserve, thanks Tim Dolby

 

26 October

Budgerigars were at the Tresco West Bushland Reserve - on the south side of the lake, thanks Tim Dolby.

24 October

A Brush Cuckoo was recorded at George St. Reserve (flew to golf course?), thanks Frank Stewart per Michael Norris

 

24 October

There was a White-winged Triller at Banksia Reserve, Oak St, Beaumaris and a probable Triller by the Council offices, Royal Avenue, thanks Michael Norris

 

22 October

There was a Sacred Kingfisher at Reno Road, Sandringham Pauline Reynolds per Michael Norris

 

21 October

An Olive-backed Oriole was heard and then seen just upstream of the Fairfield boathouse on the Yarra, thanks Bill Stent.

 

19 October

Krause Swamp near Lake Linlithgow (e of Hamilton) has about 800 Hardheads, thanks Steve Clark

 

19 October

There was a Painted Button-quail in Viewbank in remnant woodland at end of Martins Lane, thanks Richard Loyn.

 

19 October

There was a female White-winged Triller in the western block of the You Yangs Regional Park and a Singing Bushlark at Peak School Rd, near the You Yangs Regional Park, thanks Richard Nowotny

 

19 October

2 pairs of White-winged Trillers were seen at the T-section lagoons, Western Treatment Plant and a pair of Brolga with a large chick - Point Wilson Rd (the usual location), thanks Richard Nowotny

 

19 October

A Sacred Kingfisher was seen at Westgate Park, Fisherman's Bend, thanks Richard Nowotny

 

16 October

An Azure Kingfisher was seen at Chelsworth Park, Ivanhoe, hunting in a small lake to the south of the car park - to the left of the cricket field, thanks Tim Dolby

 

12 October

There were 2 Olive Backed Orioles seen at Banyule Flats, thanks James Bailey.

 

11 October

A white phase Grey Goshawk was seen twice being pursued by Magpies over Pakenham Road, Cockatoo, thanks Noel Billing.

 

11 October

On Linsday Island (Murray Sunset Nat. Park) there were 2 pairs of Banded Lapwing, both with young and on the border of Linsday Island and Ned's Corner two Western Gerygones were seen, thanks Doug Holly.
