On Saturday night, myself, Matt and Madison Hughes and David Mitford enjoyed some good spotlighting at Mitchell Park, Cattai (approx. 55km NW of Sydney CBD). We had very good looks at an Owlet Nightjar (perched on a horizontal branch), a Boobook Owl, a brief view of Tawny Frogmouth and heard a White-throated Nightjar. We also saw some interesting mammals as well including nice views of 2 Yellow-bellied Gliders feeding in the Eucalypts, Sugar Gliders, both Common Brushtail and Ringtail Possums and lots of small unidentifed bats (several flew very close to us).

Also during the final hour or so before dark, we saw 2 Brush Cuckoos, a Sacred Kingfisher, a Dollarbird and heard Leaden Flycatchers.
