Hi all,
thanks to those who replied regarding the ID of the waders. there is a
link below to a better scan of the sand plover, which seems to be about
50/50 opinion between lesser and greater. I don't recall them being
much bigger than the nearby red capped plovers which tends to swing me
towards lesser.
Just a question on the sharp tailed sandpiper, my field guide points out
that the tail and folded wings are the same length on a shapie. The
bird I posted appears to have longer wings than tail. Is this an
important point or is my field guide wrong? The link to the image is
posted below. Thanks again for your help.
