g'day John. Check with your local council dog/cat pound. Most have traps they will loan out free (but need a security deposit) They will normally give advice about placement & best bait. They will insist that all captures be returned to the pound. If not picked up by the owner (after paying a fine) after a few days, they are euthanised by a vet.
