Today after a morning's birding (somewhat spoilt by strong wind) at
Wilson Reserve, Ivanhoe, Vic., we were watching the Redrumped Parrots in
violent squabbes for potential nest-holes in a dead tree by the
billabong (just by Irvine rd Carpark). We realised that two were
attacking a larger parrot - this settled where it could be seen and
turned out to be a very beautiful Adelaide Rosella. We presume it is an
escape. It had no difficulties in flight. Seen about at 12.15. We
watched it for ten minutes or so and it was then chased off in the
direction of the golf-course.
