We came home on Monday night in the rain, at about 9 p.m., when it was completely dark. The car headlights picked out a Song Thrush feeding on our neighbour's nature-strip. Its white belly and speckles showed up well as it hopped off with an earthworm hanging out of its beak. I have often seen them feeding in twilight conditions, but never in the dark before.
