This morning (Tuesday) a Great Knot was feeding amongst
seaweed along the beach at Ricketts Point, Beaumaris,
ranging between the Reserve Road drain to nearly the Tea
House. This was the first Bayside record.
There were also two Turnstones and a Red-necked Stint
feeding on seaweed by the drain and resting on the drain
itself.
All the birds were photographed and videoed and were seen by
at least 4 birders including myself.
They persisted in feeding despite being disturbed by
walkers, some with dogs. I guess there were pretty hungry on
this windy day with unusually little of the rock platforms
showing above the water.
