A case of third time lucky to see this most elusive mega rarity and then
only in flight at 7:15 am this morning (Tuesday 9 September). I waited till
9 am but it was not relocated.

It was half way between the white warning signs in dense coastal heath that
gives out mixed weeds and succulents near the extensive coastal sandstone
platform. There is a corroded steel pipe that stands upright (about 30 cm
tall) near the exact spot on the main path out to Magic Point

Other birds of interest were Sooty Oystercatcher (1), Eastern Reef Egret
(1), Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo (3), Brown Quail (2) and Southern
Emu-wren.
