On the strength of the recent interesting reports by Jennifer Spry, Danny
Rogers and John Barkla, I made my first mid-week trip to The Farm on
Wednesday. Perhaps my most interesting sighting was a group of about 70
Great Crested Grebes on Corio Bay as seen from near the hide, surpassing
John's 8 seen on 3 August. The shearwaters and gannets however were not on
the bay.

Other birds included:

1.      A Brolga near the end of Point Wilson Road;
2.      Some Tree Martins, between the Spit and the Brolga;
3. 2 Blue-winged Parrots from the road overlooking the Spit - I tried
hard to make them into Orange-bellied Parrots, but they were not green
enough
4.      The 3 Nankeen Kestrels seen by John Barkla;
5.      Glossy Ibis at Paradise Road, increased in number to 11;
6.      The two Double-banded Plovers at Paradise Road;
7. Probable Black Falcon, on the coast road east of the 15 East Road
Outlet;
