Thanks to those people who replied to my earlier query, but I think I didn't explain it properly. The Larapinta trail is a 13 stage walking track running for 223 km from Alice Springs to Mt Sonder. It connects with the road at the well-known spots in the western MacDonnells, but covers a lot of rugged and remote country in between. Are there any birding-aussers who have walked any of the stages? In the track notes, section 7 from Ellery Creek to Serpentine Gorge is recommended for birds, especially Spinifexbird. I would be interested to hear of any other birding tips about the walk if anyone has done it. If I survive, I will report back.
