While at a 'boneseeding' (Chrysanthemoides monilifera ssp. monilifera) day at the You Yangs Regional Park west of Melbourne on Saturday, another birdo alerted our group to an 'albino' Superb Fairty-wren' on the northern edge of the park. Upon closer inspection we could see a lemony-yellow to pale white bird 'bouncing' along the ground amongst Acacia scrub. A fascinating site and the first I have seen. The chap who spotted it had apparently been going to this spot for several weeks just to see this particular bird. cheers Martin O'Brien Melbourne Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
