As a wildlife carer, it is sometimes difficult as I get a lot of calls for escapee's or whether they have been let out or not, I don't know. If a bird is sick, it also can look friendly to people. I get calls all the time with people saying "I have a bird in my backyard or I've had a bird for 3 weeks which I found in my yard and I think it is a pet as it is friendly?" Most of the time it is a very sick bird, but we do get escapee's in. I have a S/Crested Cockatoo which I have had for some weeks now, I tried to find his owner but nobody came forward for him, he talks very well. I have found a home for him, he is going this morning with a female S/C Cockatoo, down the coast on 10 acres.
