Gold Coast Birds wrote: Yesterday (July 31st) the Gold Coast Bird Group visited the Venman Bushland National Park near Mt Cotton - South of Brisbane. We located 2+ Gang-gang Cockatoos (Callocephalon fimbriatum). It is very unlikely that they are escapees, since not many Gang Gangs are kept in Queensland aviculture. They don't breed well in the warm climate here, seem to need a good cold winter to do well. I will enquire if any are known to have escaped recently in that area. cheers, Mike Owen Sunshine Coast Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
