What a thread, but lets try another tack. In 2002 Edwin Vella and I saw an American Golden Plover at Kooragang Island. From the comments I've recieved and heard from this list (and other sources) I feel as though I should have shot the bird to prove what I already knew.

 

Sometimes this is only level of proof that will be accepted.
