I have quite a few records of Fantailed Cuckoos calling in May, mainly here in the Ivanhoe/Heidelberg area near the Yarra, but also in the Romsey area. In recent years Fantailed Cuckoos seem to be much less audible in spring than they were 20 years ago, and Pallid Cuckoos hardly seem to reach this part of Melbourne at all. I hope I'm mistaken, but I don't think I am.
