I think you will find that a very big "hopefully".  

We are fortunate in that we don't have Spotted Doves in Dubbo but, from my time in coastal NSW where Crested Pigeons have colonised they do not seem to compete directly with Spotted Doves.  Crested Pigeons don't appear to become a real urban bird like Spotted Doves although HANZAB does comment that they are common in urban areas. This may still be real differences between Crested Pigeon (favouring parklands for example) and Spotted Dove or it could reflect the fact that I've never really lived in a real urban area.  In more rural areas where the two species do occur they may occur together at a localised food resource such as a chook pen or dairy but I don't feel they really compete for resources away from these areas.
