From the Sunshine Coast hinterland ,S.E.QLD. Saw a male and  female Austalasian Shoveler this morning at Ewan Maddock dam. They were cruising around with a dozen Hardheads and a lone Grey Teal. Also saw a female Musk Duck nearby, diving and and later resting. Both were new sightings for me.
The area was just north of Landsborough, western side of of the Glasshouse Mtns road where it crosses
the lake. Got great views through the scope from the southern end of the wildflower walk.I have also seen
Great Crestd Grebe in this area recently. If anyone interested  wants more info please e-mail or phone
54948876. Happy birding !  John Kooistra, Landsborough, Qld.
