Hi,
Thanks everyone for your replies, at the moment, I beleive
that it is a silver gull, inbetween the juvenile and
adult phase. (I had just thought that the juveniles had
redish black legs and the black wore off into bright
red.)
For those that have requested it, I have uploaded all
the photos with this specimen on
http://yallara.cs.rmit.edu.au/~vhl/gull
These are not modified and you can see the exposure
information with any EXIF viewer. (or windows XP)
They will be there for about a week and then I will
probably need to delete them.
As you can see, the legs and bill were actually yellow
and orange. Well, its more of a yellow than orange.
Pictures 44 and 58 are the best if you want to see its
eye, but the quality is not great. 38 is one standing next to another
immature.
I just realised that I forgot a few more picture at the
end. I uploaded of the betters ones that may help. they
are at:

91 shows the some white on the end of the black wingtips,
I dont know how that compares to the normal gulls though.
regards,
Vin
