Lake Victoria, Point Lonsdale there were 5 Hooded Plovers, 2 of
which were juveniles, an Australian Spotted Crake and a

were a pair of Australasian Shovelers at Westgate Park, thanks

driving along along Walhalla - Rawson Rd there was a female Spotted
Quail-thrush crossing the road, a Wonga Pigeon
and Bassian Thrush, thanks Giles Daubeney.

open gully south of Licola at 207 metres altitude, a mixed flock of mainly
Flame, plus Scarlet Robins, numbering around
100 birds, also numerous Jacky Winters, and three

the Austin Road Ponds at the Austin Road Ponds, Western Treatment Plant, thanks

were a pair of Purple-crowned Lorikeets feeding in an
introduced deciduous birch type tree in the gardens of the Glenrowan roadside
stop on the Hume Freeway, thanks Sean Dooley.

was a Spotted Harrier in Braeside Park that was actively
hunting over the now dry wetlands on the Governor Road end of the park, thanks

and female Flame Robin was seen at the Coolart Estate,
Merricks, on the fence adjacent to the grazing paddocks, thanks Tony

A sick
Barn Owl was seen at the Western Treatment Plant. It fell off
his branch as we were observing it, appeared close to death and died on the way
to the vet, thanks Paul Hackett.

Pied Currawong was seen very close to the city flying across
the intersection of St Kilda Road and Moubray Street, the same intersection that
has the Royal Victoria Institute for the Blind on the corner, thanks Tania

are at least two, maybe three Scarlet Honeyeaters outside the
Whispering Gums Motel, in Newstead, thanks Sean Dooley & John
Alexander.
Updates
The
Regent Honeyeater outside the Whispering Gums Motel, in
Newstead is no longer there, however there are at least two, maybe three
Scarlet Honeyeaters, thanks Peter Fuller.
The Powerful
Owl in Williamstown was not seen on the 5th. From downtown Williamstown
drive south along the Strand and turn left (east) into Nelson Place, heading
towards the Bay. The elm/s in
question are on the left (northern) side of Nelson Place just beyond Ann St, out
the front of Nelson House (the offices of Tenix), thanks Richard
Nowotny.
