Fish Farm.

Australian Wed 9 July.

An article discussing the proposed Moreton Bay Fish Farm tells of the Nationals accusing the Labour Govt of actively supporting the establishment of this farm
near Moreton Island.

Julian Amos, a director of the company wanting to establish the FF
stated that
they would be environmentally friendly and do no harm etc but admitted they
would contribute 48 tonnes of Nitrogen to the bay waters in the
initial stages
of setting up the operation but said nothing of the continuing
situation.

They expect or HOPE to have 2 000 000 fish in an enclosure about the size of a
football field. The site of the proposed farm is within Moreton Bay
Marine
National Park. Maybe that’s why the National Party is up in arms.

Will this be any problem to the Birds of Moreton Bay.

Will the added nutrients cause problems of algal blooms?

Will the feeding of waders be in any altered?

Will it possibly cause an influx or greatly increased populations of any
species/ Cormorants?
