G'day All,
An email sent to another fine email list landed in my in tray today. How the heck can we Oz increase the healthy way of life i.e. birding, when the poor planning issue is cropping up more and more and more, for wheelchair users here in Australia?
Is it just a case of non thinking, 100 per cent abled bodied people making plans for 100 per cent abled bodied people? with no thought for any others, or worse? thee email below comes from the disabled UK birdo's email group.
Accessibility also comes in the format of not having dangerously high kerbsides. Thereby NOT promoting accidents.

Dear All,
There is a Serin in Everton (near Sandy), Bedfordshire that has been showing well for nearly a week now.
I went to see it on Friday and it is a lovely bird singing heartily.
The reason I bring this up is that, like the Glossy Ibis in Devon (which I have mentioned before), the Serin is usually easily viewed from the street or well-paved footpaths and is therefore accessible to wheelchairs as well as being within easy reach of the A1.
Just thought some of you might appreciate the tip-off, that's all!
Last confirmed sighting was today.
