Hi all,
Yesterday (6th July) I found a minimum of only seven Swift Parrots at the
Nepean Hospital (group of 6 feeding high in a Grey Box, and groups of 3 and
7 birds flying through the hospital - both heading west-south-west) - went
for a bit of a drive around the area looking for where else the rest of the
birds may be, clearly, they aren't always at the hospital and so must be
feeding somewhere else. But to no avail.
Still plenty of Striated Pardalotes in the eucalypts.
Also of interest was a pair of Golden Whistlers in a planted Brush Box in a
street off the south-east corner of the hospital grounds. This is the first
time I have seen Golden Whistler in a suburban street where there is no
reasonable patches of bush close by.
Cheers, Dean
PS if anyone sees the parrots at the hospital or nearby, please post a
report.
