Hi All,
Yesterday Marie and I took a look at the "Scout Den" near Lake Kurwongbah (nr Petrie N of Brisbane) with a couple of friends. For the third weekend running we recorded Black-chinned Honeyeaters, and on this occasion they appeared to be feeding young. (We saw at least 8 birds though there could have been more) This site is 'rumoured' to be in the path of a new road planned to ease traffic-congestion, so we were wondering if anything could be done to make the public aware of this rare species (in SE Qld)? I will contact Qld Parks and Wildlife but would welcome anyother suggestions. Also at a location near Cashmere (just south of Petrie) we recorded Yellow-tufted Honeyeaters (again, very rare in the Brisbane area.)
For further details please contact us privately,
Tom
