Hi birders

Yesterday morning I took a ramble through a couple of sections of Woodlands Historic Park (adjacent to Melbourne's international airport). About an hour in the top section from the Somers Road carpark around to near the homestead; and about 1.25 hours in the Back Paddock below Mount Gellibrand. Minor highlights included the regular 3-4 pairs of Red-capped Robins in the Back Paddock, at least two pairs of Restless Flycatchers in the Somers Road area (this species becoming rarer in southern Victoria these days), a few wintering Mistletoebirds in the Back Paddock; and my first record of Common Bronzewing for this reserve.

Damned if I could find either the Bell Miners or White-eared Honeyeaters reported by others from this park. As I'm not deaf yet, I can only presume I was birding in different spots.

List follows - numbers on left indicate whether recorded in one or both areas.
