Another new bird for the Woodlands list ! A White-eared
Honeyeater was feeding at the Providence Road car park last
Friday on one of those endless sunny, still, autumn
Melbourne days. I and another subscriber saw 17 species
there including 3 red-capped robins.

A stroll into the park added good views of 2 Whistling Kites
perched together.

Which is a long way round to WITHDRAWING the Satin
Flycatcher "record" posted to THEE list on 29/12/02 in
relation to my visit to Woodlands on 28/12/02. I blame the
heat, but the birds were almost certainly Restless
Flycatchers (the species has been on Lawrie Conole's and
other lists for Woodlands for some time and I saw 2 Restless
Flycatchers at this same spot in February and April this
year). And anyhow there was a hint in the posting which
said "Satin Flycatcher (male feeding ?immature male)" !!

Michael Norris :-(

PS Andrew, can you please amend the posting to put "records
subsequently withdrawn" against the Satin Flycatcher ?
