Decided to spend a casual day checking out what's flowering for next weeks Swift Parrot count in the Inglewood/Kingower/Moliagul area of central Victoria.
By mid afternoon I realised I'd seen 14 sp. of honeyeater and so decided to chase some more!...successfully!

There's some good areas of flowering Blue Mallee,Red Ironbark(Dardanelles rd.)and Yellow Gum but it's very patchy.
Found 15 Swifties near Rheola.Perhaps it's the recent rains but the birding here has really picked up.
The Honeyeaters were:-Red Wattlebird,Spiny-cheeked,Noisy Miner,Yellow-faced,Singing,Whie-eared,Yellow-tufted,Yellow-plumed,Fuscous,White-plumed,Black-chinned,Brown-headed,White-naped,New Holland,White-fronted,Tawny-crowned and Eastern Spinebill !!!
Also worth noting were Crested Bellbird,Shy Heathwren,Southern Scrub-Robin,Purple-crowned Lorikeets.
Some days everthing just falls into place!!!
Happy birding,
Simon Starr,Pyramid Hill,Vic.
