Hi Peter & All,
I wondered that too but in my quick viewing, it was a species of Bee-eater, certainly not a parrot, as evidenced by the long thin, downcurved beak and the head colour pattern. It may have been our Rainbow Bee-eater but the colour pattern didn't seem quite right and I don't know of potential other species near Bali but then it was only about 0.8 of a second of a very peripheral picture.

Last night on the ABC's series of the modern retracing of Captain Cook's (Note, NOT COOKS, apostrophe needed as there was only one of him and it was his voyage)  voyage on the Endeavour, a colourful 'parrot' landed on the ship when nearing the shores of Bali.  Can anyone who saw the show tell me what this bird was?

A Tawny Frogmouth also made an appearance on Home and Away last night.
