An Orange-bellied Parrot was seen on Foreshore Road,
outside the large ornamental gates at Geelong Grammar - between the school and
the little swamp beside Corio Bay, thanks Russell (& wife)
Woodford.
11 May
2 or 3 pairs of Powerful Owls have made home at the
Birdsland Environmental Education Centre in Belgrave South, thanks Donna
Grundy.

A Little Eagle was seen over Banyule Flats, Heidelberg,
thanks Richard Loyn.

On the Port Fairy pelagic trip up to 10, including 1 dark phase,
Soft-plumaged Petrels, 4 Sooty Albatrosses and
6 Grey-backed Storm-petrels were highlights, thanks Rohan
Clarke.

A pair of Major Mitchell's Cockatoo were seen in a
paddock about 40kms north of Bendigo on the Pyramid Hill Road, thanks Greg
Oakley.

There were 2 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Blue-winged
Parrots and 2 Cape Barren Goose at the Western
Treatment Plant, thanks Richard Nowotny.

12 Great-crested Grebe as well as Blue-billed
Duck, Hardhead, Chestnut Teal,
Mountain Duck, Wood Duck and Pacific
Black Duck - and about 30 Domestic Geese at Newlyn
Reservoir, near Creswick, thanks Tim Dolby.
5 May
A Little Eagle was seen over Berwick, thanks Graham
Beal.
3 May
At the You Yangs there was a Fan-tailed Cuckoo, 3
Painted Button-quail and approximately 20 Flame
Robins, thanks Richard Nowotny.

Flame Robins have returned and are being seen in the
Geelong region at the You Yangs Regional Park, Inverleigh Flora and Fauna
Reserve and Anakie, thanks Peter Fuller.
2 May
A single juvenile Orange-bellied Parrot was seen at the
Western Treatment Plant about 70m inside the gate at the bottom of Beach Rd on
the north side, ie along the main track towards Lake Borrie. It was banded with a black band on its
left indicating that it was born in a nest box at Melaleuca SW Tas in the
2002/03 summer, thanks Peter Menkhorst.
1 May
An Australian Bustard was reported on a property north
of Hamilton, thanks Steve Clark.
1 May
A possible White Wagtail was reported from the spillway
at Lake Hamilton, although it was not seen on the 2 of May, thanks Hilary &
John Brooke.

Two Swift Parrots at Deakin Waurn Ponds Campus between
the library and the main pond and a Nankeen Night-heron in roost on the island
in the main pond, thanks Peter Fuller.
