I think or wish !

Today I was doing some work at the Mobil Pheasant Nest service station
North Bound side when I saw what I could only describe as a Yellow Chat.
Due to the heavy rains in the Sydney area, on the road side of the off ramp
there are small creeks forming and the birds (10 to 12) where feed/drinking
on the edge on this newly formed water course. Although I didn't have my
bins with me, the birds were quite happy to allow me to within 5 metres.
Two birds in particular, had a bright yellow chest and throat with a black
band separating the area. The others (assuming that they might be the
females) actual looked more like yellow faced HE.
Most of my field guides are 20 yrs old and there isn't much info on the
Yellow Chats and suggests that this bird has only been recorded in small
pockets of Aust. So now I'm unsure and need your help.

Pheasant Nest is 80kms SW of Sydney on the Hume Hwy, probably 10 kms short
of the Southern Highlands. Have Yellow Chats been sighted in this area ?
Or have I been taking pain killers ?

Any suggestions what this bird could have been if not a yellow chat ?
