Birdline Victoria
Update No. 116 For the week ending: 4 May,
2003
I saw the Pratincoles on Wednesday and Karen Pearson saw them
on Thursday at the T-section lagoons on the left, near the road in Western
Treatment Plant. A number of people had congregated on Saturday morning, without
luck, but I don't know how they went in the afternoon. The Northern
Shoveler, however, was seen by those birders in the ponds immediately
to the right of the Pratincole location and there have been the odd sighting of
early Orange-bellied Parrots and a pair of Black
Falcons in the area.
