Hi all Forest Kingfishers nest in Tree Termite 'mounds', and in the Top End, NT, Red-backed Kingfishers will nest in 'normal' termite mounds. I presume they would do it elsewhere also. I suspect there are a few other species that nest in termite mounds, either occasionally or regularly, but without having time to check any refs, I can't think of any more. Have a good birding easter.
