Hi,

After a rather cool windy and rainy weekend away we
brought home a decent birdlist from the Southern Paddy
Ranges near Maryborough Vic. The highlight was waking
up to a chorus of Swift Parrot calls on Sat 12th
April. 5 birds were seen, but others were definitely
in the area at the same time - much calling back and
forth was going on.

The long awaited rains and the blossoming white and
black ironbarks and grey box also saw the return of
some of our regular honeyeaters, such as the Yellow
faced, White naped and Fuscous.

Other birds seen include: Black Chinned Honeyeater,
Owlet Nightjar, White Bellied Cuckoo Shrike, Crested
Shrike Tit and Musk Lorikeet.

Cheers,
Jan Flack
