A pleasant surprise in the Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne last night.

Just before dusk, the unmistakable call (albeit quiet), of a Southern
Boobook coming from the canopy of large elms near the Fairy Garden area.
This is about a km from the Melbourne GPO.

Along with the Grey-headed Flying-foxes, a nice wildlife observation for a
big city.
