Having once been a penniless birder sharing a sleeping bag under a tree I can vouch for having had plenty of fun then, but probably no greater thrill twitching a new bird, particularly after a long search, and despite being slower, older and more affluent, still have fun celebrating in a swag, tent, campervan or motel . Maturity and lucre have their compensations, particularly no flees.
