Hello all,

Had a few days in Kingaroy and took a quick
trip to the Bunya Mountains...about an hour from
Kingaroy in the Burnett Queensland.

On the 4km circuit walk (starting from Rosella
Restaurant ) just near Pine Gorge Lookout we
had at least 30 seconds of fantastic views of a
single male BBBQ ....we were actually looking at
a Red-bellied Black-snake on the other side of a
large log.

He produced 7 platelets in that time.
The views were too good to get the camera out as
I thought it might spook him.....only 5 m's away.

It goes to show just how fast they make their circular
sratchings!

Also great view of a Fawn-footed Melomys
uncharacteristically foraging during daylight.

The Sooty Owl was not at his daytime figtree roast.

Cheers,

Bill
