Hi Folks,

Dave Cameron and I spent a pleasant hour birding along the Wannon River near Dunkeld early this morning. Most of the usual birds were present along with a few new sightings for us in this particular area. Highlights were a Sacred Kingfisher, a pair of Gang Gang Cockatoos and a Crested Shrike-Tit.

Others species spotted were:

Eastern Yellow Robin
White-Browed Scrubwrens
Dusky Woodswallow (including young being fed)
White-Throated Treecreepers
Bassian Thrush (pair)
Restless Flycatchers
Crimson Rosellas
Red-browed Finch (50+)
Tree Martins
Grey Shrike-Thrush
Grey Fantails (including young)
Magpies
Long Billed Corellas
Superb Blue Wrens
Spotted Pardalote
Yellow-rumped Thornbills
Sulphur-crested Cockatoos
Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos
Yellow-tufted Honeyeater

Cheers,

Margaret
