Very shortly I will be moving from coordinating the national Regent
Honeyeater Recovery Effort to a project investigating the breeding
requirements of Freckled & Blue-billed Ducks.
I'd love to hear from anyone (please e-mail me directly) that has
breeding, or potential breeding, records of Freckled & Blue-billed Ducks.
I'm not all that interested in non-breeding sightings of these species as
these are generally easily accessed from various databases. The
information gathered on breeding will eventually find its way into
Recovery Plans for these two species and ultimately ensure conditions
prevail to encourage breeding by these ducks.
For those involved in the Regent Honeyeater Recovery Effort please note
that the plan is for me to return as the coordinator once the duck project
has been completed (and if Environment Australia has sorted out the
current confusion re funding of national projects). In the interim please
note that all my contact details will remain the same and please continue
forwarding sightings of Regent Honeyeaters to me.
Cheers
David
