G'day all I went for a bike ride around Lake Hamilton (sw Victoria) yesterday and stopped for a while at the spot where Spotles Crakes had frequented two years ago. Almost immediately I saw an Australian Crake then one and a second Spotless Crake. If anyone is up this way and wants to see them - go to the beach picnic area on the eastern shore of the lake and then walk back a little way towards the south (towards the spillway). There is a small group of sheoaks near a patch of reeds. This is the spot.
