Terry,
There are two answers to this question;
(a) The oldest known Grey Butcherbird recorded from banding and
recovery is 18 years 9 months.
(b) The average life expectancy of butcherbirds is probably about1.5 -
2 years with an annual mortality of between 40-50%.
Generaly the larger the bird to greater the longevity.

Does anyone know the life span of Butcherbirds?

the request is the stuff that inspires people to write magazine
articles, if
