Saw widely spaced White-throated Needletails at dusk over the Glen Nature Reserve, 20 south of Gloucester NSW Saturday evening - 3, then a further 3 or the first 3 returning, then 12 or so, and then a further 10 or so, and finely as it was nearly dark, a single going fast to catch up. This was above a clearing in the forest so for all we knew, there could have been hundreds more. Weather was warm and humid after a hot day in the high 30s, no serious fires nearby -the birds seemed to be circling and hawking as normal but heading in an easterly direction.
