Hi Tom Wow! Now, I promise you I don't want to be in any way competitive!! In fact, I'm significantly envious of all the great birds you find around Samsonvale - and just as green-eyed about the photos your getting of them. However, for the sake of the record, I ought to mention that we had a male Black Honeyeater in the garden at Abberton in October 1994, at the time of the last irruption, which also coincided with large flocks of the more inland woodswallows - as happened again hereabouts in October of last year. The woodswallows have dissipated, but some of the Black Honeyeaters seem to be lingering on. And you're certainly further east than we are! All the best Bill Jolly "Abberton", Lockyer Valley, Queensland. Visit our website at http://www.abberton.org Email: Ph: (+61) 7 4697 6111 Fax: (+61) 7 4697 6056 |
