G'day All and many thanks for the well wishes and get well soon email cards,

*Heart Warming*

I was anonymously sent a picture of an event that didn't exist looks like a fine gathering of many people that I know? Some in the picture look very familiar to many young folk on this list? can't be though? can it? no Shirley not. Looks like the night was a roaring success, can I now say it MIN? break a leg Shorn ..... what is so very heartwarming to me is the youth of those in the picture ..... I thought it was only us oldies that cared enough to do silly things like caring for thee environment.

Anyways I digress, with so many email being about the Oz bush fires on the world's best email list, could I ask a couple of favors please, if ever there was a time to immediately put out hanging/suspended water bowls it is now. Looks like some reports of singed Koala's drinking from the same are coming through, and we all know the success story with birds and HSWB's, so why hesitate, please do the right thing. If you have any questions about how to do this drop me an email. I'll be only to glad to help out however I can. Think clever with the positioning of the raised water trough.

With so many of our gum trees being badly burnt, and therefore a lack of food being available for many wild ones ..... could we put the feeding of wild birds and animals issue behind us please? they are going to need a bit more then specialized tree planting to get them through these times, a nice thought but more immediate help is needed if survival is to continue. It's NOT only Koala's and Birds that live in and on our Gum Trees.

*Magic Nights*

Hmmm should I dob in my black and white dawtie or not? oh well I'll risk being pecked a bit more. I stayed up quite late last night, catching up with overseas snail mail etc etc.

Me sat at my lounge room table, Eggy watching some little yellow thing go back and forth on the TV? perhaps, I first thought, she thinks it's some sort of bug that has got indoors? time went past very quickly, next thing I knew, it was midnight and they were still playing tennis ..... so I joined Eggy down on the floor and decided to watch.

Most intent she was. Perhaps she thought she was watching some late night Eroddick movie I thought? then she just hopped up onto my shoulder and with heavy eyes gave me a gentle peck on the cheek, squat down on my shoulder and went to sleep? now many a time back in the UK, especially in Cinemas I've had young ladies fall asleep on my shoulder but this is my first bird.

Disproves one thing eh?

Two birds in the hand NOT worth a bird on your shoulder.
