G'day all I've just heard back from the Australian Bird & Bat Banding folk about the banded Pied Oystercatcher I saw recently in Port Fairy. The bird was banded as a first year of unknown sex in February 1999 at Manns Beach, Corner Inlet, eastern Victoria. Therefore it is over 4 years old. Corner Inlet is some 400km from Port Fairy. Not a dramatic movement as waders go but interesting none the less.
